Respiratory diseases
Respiratory diseases are continously gaining in importance (allergies, environmentally induced asthma, smoking, etc.). Pulmonary products are one of the main focuses of the Chiesi Group’s development and marketing activities. A highlight in this area was the patenting of respiratory sprays based on a freon-free (Modulite® technology). The Torrex Chiesi Group’s own product portfolio is being expanded by Prolastin®, an important drug for a rare genetically-related disorder (alpha1-antitrypsin-deficiency).
Ingredients:
-
Alpha1-proteinase inhibitor (alpha1-antitrypsin) is a natural blood component which is used as a chronic replacement therapy in individuals with a congenital deficiency of alpha1-antitrypsin associated with progressive pulmonary emphysema.
-
This fixed combination consists of an antiinflammatory inhalative corticosteroid and a long-acting bronchodilatory beta-2-sympathomimetic drug. Due to the synergism of both agents and its fast onset of action, it is indicated in the treatment of asthma bronchiale. Based on the Modulite® technology, both components have extra fine formulations. This ensures high particle distribution in the central and peripheral airways and allows reduction of the corticosteroid dosage.
-
Beclometasone dipropionate (BDP) is an antiinflammatory and antiedematous acting glucocorticoid which is used in the treatment of severe chronic pulmonary diseases such as asthma bronchiale, bronchitis or inflammatory obstructive lung emphysema.
-
Beclometasone dipropionate (BDP) is an antiinflammatory and antiedematous acting glucocorticoid. It is absorbed by the nasal mucous membrane. It is indicated in the treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis.
-
Budesonide is used as an inhalative glucocorticoid in the treatment of asthma bronchiale and chronic obstructive bronchitis. Modulite® technology enables optimized particle-size and, as a result, better lung deposition and a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. We offer the product with and without Spacer/Jet.
-
Formoterol is an inhalative long-acting beta-2-agonist which acts as a bronchodilator. It is indicated in patients with obstructive pulmonary disease.
-
Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic which is produced by Streptomyces tenebrarius and it is administered via inhalative route. The therapeutic indication is the management of chronic pulmonary infections caused by pseudomonas aeruginosa in patients with cystic fibrosis.
