Our product is a natural surfactant for substituting a lack of endogenous surfactant and is administered via intratracheal instillation. It adheres to the alveoli and reduces the surface tension, thereby preventing atelectasis (ventilation deficiency in the lung). The insufficiency of surfactant leads to massive respiratory failure in premature infants - a condition known as respiratory distress syndrome (RDS).
