Intensive care
Anesthesia/Analgesia and intensive care are key areas of operations for the Chiesi CEE group. A broad variety of products is designed to meet the demand in this specific medical field.
Ingredients:
-
Belzer solution is a fluid which is exclusively used for conservation purposes for the perfusion and storage of organs for transplantation such as kidneys or liver.
-
Dobutamine is a synthetic catecholamine which is indicated as rescue medication for the treatment of cardiac insufficiency, cardiogenic shock and during diagnostic cardiac stress testing.
-
Droperidol is a butyrophenone and antidopaminergic drug with an inhibiting effect on the alpha-receptors of the area postrema of the brain. It has a strong central antiemetic effect and is mainly used to treat postoperative nausea and vomiting.
-
Fentanyl, a powerful narcotic analgesic, is used as an analgetic component for general anaesthesia. It is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine and a very fast acting substance.
-
Glycopyrronium is a synthetic anti-cholinergic agent which inhibits gastrointestinal motility and salivation and also reduces the tonicity of the smooth muscles. Therefore, it is used in operations as a narcosis premedication or to prevent intra-operative bradycardia.
-
Isoflurane is a general inhalational anaesthetic which enables a rapid induction of anaesthesia and also rapid recovery. It has good hypnotic and muscle relaxant properties.
-
Midazolam is a benzodiazepine derivative. Due to its powerful sedative effects, it is used in anaesthesia for analgosedation or narcosis and, due to its short half life, also for brief and yet painful diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Furthermore, midazolam has anxiolytic, anticonvulsant and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.
-
Nalbuphine is a highly potent synthetic opioid analgesic which acts, depending on the receptors, both as an agonist and as an antagonist. A special characteristic of this drug is its capacity to neutralize the opioid-induced respiratory depression after narcosis. A further indication is the treatment of moderate to severe pain e.g. after surgery or myocardial infarction and as a component of balanced anaesthesia.
-
Naloxone is an opioid antagonist virtually free of any agonist or analgesic properties. Naloxone is mainly indicated in the complete or partial reversal of opioid-induced central nervous depression, in particular respiratory depression, induced by opioids and certain agonist-antagonist analgesics.
-
Sufentanil is a synthetic opioid analgesic drug which is seven to ten times more potent than Fentanyl. It is used either as analgesic component or as an anaesthetic agent for the induction and maintenance of balanced anaesthesia.
-
Terlipressin is a synthetic analogue of the natural posterior pituitary hormone vasopressin. As a vasoconstrictive agent, which is used in the treatment of bleeding esophageal varices, bleeding gastric ulcers and hepatorenal syndrome.
